Monserrat - View Into The Valley

The monastery at Monserrat, Spain is a spectacular location.  Since the fifth century, pilgrims have travelled here.  The walk must have been brutal.  I took the funicular instead.

I obviously must go there, I had no idea it was like this. I have worked with three films of their manuscripts for Pierre de la Rue, MSS nearly as beautiful as this scenery. Thanks for including this. Great shades of grey, clouds, composition . . . .

Magnificent shot!! Everything is perfect! The two people in the lower foreground show the scale of this huge panorama. I love the way the road appears and disappears on the right side. The sky/clouds is a nice counterpoint to the rugged rocks and terrain. Black & White rules!

I must say the Grand Canyon doesn't seem near as grand anymore after gazing at this scene This is nicely cropped, the weight of the terrain feels balanced. The depth is incredible, so much going on. What lies behind the mist near the horizon? Truly a fun shot.
