The expression is of course powerful (good actor . . . or slow reader), one usually reads with open eyes, it seems bizarre to have a fire destroy something when there is so much water at hand, and there is the tension of knowing this is one book the reader most likely won't finish. Nice vignetting, and it must have been difficult to capture the flames against the water reflections. Most photographers use reflectors rather than fire to illuminate the face . . . new trend?
